Lady Gaga - Government Hooker

No she is not a prostitute. 'Government Hooker' is a song from Gagas latest album "Born This Way".

'Government Hooker' is unique on this Gaga album in the sense that it is based on significanly heavy electro with slow, fat bass rounded with criticizing lyrics towards the government which is not very common for Gaga.

My prediction is that this song will be a late bloomer. Right now it's all about 'Judas' and 'Born This Way' but when the album has sunken in to peoples heads they will realize that 'Government Hooker' is the ultimate club track.

It has that provocative lyrics that just will be way to vulgar and enrage old people and on top of everything it has a little government scandal story in between the lines.

The story is found in theese lyrics:

" I'm gonna drink my tears tonight                       Put your hands on me, John F. Kennedy.
I'm gonna drink my tears and cry                       I'll make you squeal, baby,
'Cause I know you love me baby                         as long as you pay me."
I know you love me baby

These lines are references to one of John F. Kennedys affairs during his presidency. In this case it's about the famous movie star Marilyn Monroe. She fell hopelessly in love with Kennedy after their affairs, but she couldn't be with him for obvious reasons. It jeopardized his presidency. She fell into deep depression and the fifth of August 1962 she was found dead in her bed.

There is several conspiracy theories that the Kennedy Family should have been behind the murder. Her death have lead to much speculations but under her career she was often depressed and suffered from bad self confidence. How ever, the dissector Thomas Noguchi means that her death most likely was caused by suicide.

"Put your hands on me, John F. Kennedy" is the prime lyric that draw my attention to this song. It also has a very underground club feeling in the beat that I like.
