Jonny Craig back in Dance Gavin Dance.

After leaving Dance Gavin Dance around four years ago Jonny Craig is back, replacing current vocalist Kurt Travis. The members of Dance Gavin Dance are currently working around the clock in the studio recording their forthcoming album, Downtown Battle Mountain Pt. 2.

Hey, My name is Max and this'll be my first post here, hopefully with many more to come.

There was really only one thing I could think of writing in my first post, so let's jump right at it:

DGD, Dance Gavin Dance, is as some know close to releasing their fourth full-length album.
"Downtown Battle Mountain pt.2"

Dance Gavin Dance released their first album 2006 and has since then recorded three full-length albums.
They started out with lead vocalist Jonny Craig, with whom they recorded "Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean" (2006), and "Downtown Battle Mountain" (2007).

Jonny Craig left the band soon after the release, and wasn't allowed to rejoin when he later asked to. Instead the band welcomed a new vocalist, Kurt Travis, with whom they released two more albums. (The self named album "Dance Gavin Dance" in 2008, and "Happiness" during the summer of 2009).

Their style changed a lot with Craig leaving, much of the screaming disappeared. Something I personally didn't think was such a bad thing. All things considered, DGD just wasn't the same without Craigs vocals. Not that there's anything wrong with Kurts voice. There's nothing to complain about it at all actually, but there was something magical with their earlier albums. And Craig was definetly the source of it.

Well, guess who's finally back?
Our favourite vocalist, Jonny Craig.

When I first read that Jonny was rejoining the band I literally shit my pants.
I'd go as far as to calling Downtown Battle Mountain (which I guess you could call their first "real" album) one of my all time favorites.
Anyway, he's back. They've said that the new album will be a mixture of the old and the new DGD. Simply great news. I really hope they can get the magic popping again.

However, old vocalist John Mess, handling the screams, is also rejoining. Something many aint as excited about.
I Read a comment on youtube regarding that matter, which made me lol quite a bit.
"stoked for jonny to be back in the band, bummed that john mess is back, he sucks anal cavity".
Bit harsh perhaps, but in my opinion, the fellow got a point.
I'm still stoked though.

Linkin one of the old songs from Downtown Battle Mountain (with vocalist Jonny Craig), and one from the latest album Happiness (with vocalist Kurt Travis).
Turn yo' speakers up and enjoy.

/Max
