The Teddybears in Caesar's Palace
From teddybears to roman emperors and then back to teddybears?!
Joakim "Jocke" Åhlund is the man behind the band first called Teddybears STHLM then The Teddybears and finally Teddybears. He is also, from his own words, "The dictator" of Caesars. His other band which too has the exact same name-changing-history as Teddybears. 1. Caesar's Palace 2. The Caesars 3. Caesars. No doubt he is the brains of these bands. On top of all of this he also direct advertising films and produce music for Broder Daniel, Håkan Hellström, Robyn and tons of other great swedish bands/artists.
However, enough with the bullshit information.
Teddybears and Caesars have been rivals since their simultaneous birth 1993. Caesars had most of the attention during the 90s all the way up until 2008 when they released the album Strawberry Weed which was not at all comparable to former albums. With the release of Strawberry Weed, Teddybears kept widening throughout the mainstream crowd with the super hit Hey Boy (2004) and the album Soft Machine (2006). Then when they released the single Get Mama a House (2009) and the album Devil's Music (2010) they synchronized in time with the rest of the pop culture and the mainstream crowd welcomed it with arms wide open.
Teddybears became centre of attention because of the way the industry has been formed these last five years and therefore a more electronical and dance-happy sound mixed with the masks and costumes on stage let the Teddybears stomp in and conquer Caesar's Palace.
